We are a grassroots organization that developed in Vermont in 2006 during a year of record low prices and high cost of production. We know first-hand how devastating the financial loss of an unified Dairy Industry is. It affects vet, local stores, feed dealers, repair shops as well as threatens the open landscape that tourists, hunters, snowmobile enthusiasts and Vermonters enjoy today.
Dairy farmers, bankers, suppliers, feed dealers, coop leaders, politicians and consumers need to embrace and promote the change that is before us to secure our dairy farms both locally and nationally.

DFWT supports a plan that stabilizes milk prices by balancing supply and demand—one that provides a fair price for both the consumer and the producer that is national in scope and is driven by the industry.
Since 2006, we’ve traveled extensively across the country, hosted meetings and national calls where farmers have stated overwhelmingly they want a form of supply management which can respond to the market.
